History

Founding...

Several years ago, a couple born and raised in Wilkes County, The Wilsons, began to pray that God would build a local independent New Testament bible believing Baptist Church in Wilkes County that would love people and the Word of God as much as they do.

One night in a meeting they meet an evangelist from Athens named John Smith.  After sharing their desire for a new church with the evangelist, they all began to pray.  From their Prayers, New Life began.  A building was found, (the current location of New Life), and the doors were opened with evangelist John Smith as the Pastor.

Current State...

In the third month of operation, Pastor John invited a friend to come and preach  an evening service for him.  His name was Brother Arthur Key.  Brother Arthur came and preached that night but after he left he felt a strong desire to return to New Life.  After several months of praying Brother Arthur, Sister Mandy and their two children came to New Life just to be a part of the work God was doing.  Unknown to him or anyone else, Pastor John would soon come to the conclusion through prayer and guidance of the Holy Spirit, that God was sending him to another work.

The following January, Pastor John left and "Brother Arthur Key" became our Pastor and has been since January of 2010.  In February of the same year God brought "Brother John Cinereski" and his family to New Life.  Brother John is currently the assistant to the Pastor and serves alongside Pastor Arthur and many other great men and women that make New Life not just a church but a family.
